8 families with a formal, bookish Thai and a serif Latin, for books, long articles and reports.
Thai letters have no serifs in the Latin sense, so a Thai serif is a looped Thai designed to sit beside a serif Latin, usually with more contrast between thick and thin strokes and a more formal, bookish feel than a sans.
All 8 families here are looped. Taviraj and Trirong share one formal, contrasted design, Taviraj for headings and Trirong for reading. Pridi and Maitree pair their Thai with sturdy slab-like serifs. Noto Serif Thai matches Noto Serif across many scripts, and Kinnari, Norasi and Arundina Serif are long-standing Linux faces with Latin in the Times and Vera traditions. Choose one of these for books, long articles, reports and anything that should feel editorial. On screens at small sizes, the lower-contrast faces such as Maitree and Noto Serif Thai hold up best.
