Thai fonts under the Bitstream Vera licence

One family in the catalog uses the Bitstream Vera licence: Waree, a looped Thai that the Thai Linux Working Group built on Bitstream Vera Sans, so its Latin is the familiar Vera design. The licence is permissive. You may use, copy and share the font, and bundle it with software you sell. You may change it, but a changed version has to be renamed so that its name no longer contains “Bitstream” or “Vera”. The one thing you may not do is sell a copy of the font on its own.

Because the licence puts a condition on changes, our previews use the original file. If you need a Thai companion for DejaVu or Vera fonts in a document or interface, Waree is the natural pick, and the Arundina families follow the same terms under SIPA's name.
